Summer is just around the corner which increases the usage of tricycles for adults.

Clean your bike with warm water and a special bike cleaner. Avoid aggressive cleaning agents to prevent any damage. You can remove stubborn dirt with a soft brush. Make sure that the water jet is not too strong if you are using a hose. Never clean your tricycle with a high-pressure cleaner. The high water pressure can cause deposits to get into sensitive areas. In addition, the grease that prevents dirt from penetrating the bearing will be washed off. Never clean oily components on the bike, as this can impair its function.

The chain is the central element of the vehicle. Light stains can be cleaned with a chain brush or removed with a dry cloth. If rust or brown stains are visible, take the vehicle to a workshop. It is recommended to oil the bike chain about once a month. If you often travel long distances, check the air pressure in your tires at regular intervals. Once you have cleaned the dirt from your tricycle for adults, check the essential parts:

Lighting

- Check the head and tail lights for function and secure fit.

Brakes

- Check the tightness of the cables and connections, if your tricycle has hydraulic brakes.

- Push the vehicle and operate one brake at a time; the braked front and rear wheels must lock.

Suspension elements

- Check the suspension elements for function and secure attachment.

Rims and spokes

- Check the rims for concentricity.

- Check the spokes for even tension.

Gear shifting

- Check the gear shift for proper function.

Bell

- Check the bell for proper function and secure fit. A clear sound must be heard when you operate the bell.

Handlebars and handlebar stem

- Check the handlebars and handlebar stem for tight fit, cracks, deformation or color changes.

Pedal drive

- Check the pedal drive for function and strength.

Frame, fork and seat post

- There must be no cracks, deformations or color changes on the frame, fork or seat post.

Tires

- Check the tires for cracks, foreign objects, tire pressure and sufficient tread depth.

Seat post and saddle

- Check the seat post and saddle for correct position and correct, secure attachment.

Bolts, nuts and plug-in connections

- Check the bolts, nuts and plug-in connections for tightness.

Tensioning devices

- Check the pretension and correct fit of all tensioning devices.
